After activating the subscription you receive your conference number and conference pin, which you send to all desired participants. Each participant dials in with one of the peoplefone dial-in numbers and pays at his provider the call to a local landline number.
Participants that are already peoplefone customers pay nothing, because the dial-in number is from peoplefone and therefore the call from peoplefone to peoplefone is free among members.
