“No news is good news”—a hassle-free switch to peoplefone and MS Teams

In an interview, Marion Klein, CEO of Pack Easy, explains the reasons behind the switch to peoplefone—and why the transition went smoothly and efficiently.

Pack Easy is Switzerland’s oldest luggage manufacturer. Since 1961, the Lucerne-based company has been producing suitcases, bags, and accessories for travelers around the world. Pack Easy prioritizes quality, functionality, and contemporary designs in all its products. The company employs 16 people in-house and is connected globally through new technologies.

Pack Easy has been using peoplefone for its phone system since February 2025. What were the reasons for the switch?

We were facing some challenges with our old phone system and therefore analyzed various options for a change. After consulting with our long-standing IT partner, Leuchter IT Solutions AG, we decided to switch to Microsoft Teams with peoplefone as our provider. We looked at other companies as well, but peoplefone had the edge since they were recommended to us by Leuchter IT. Ultimately, however, peoplefone’s service and price were what convinced us.

You switched to MS Teams (5x channels with direct routing). Why was that the best solution for your company?

It was an obvious choice, since we already had the infrastructure in place and only minimal adjustments were needed to install MS Teams. It’s fundamentally important to us that we can work as efficiently and seamlessly as possible. That’s why this switch made sense.

What benefits does the new phone solution offer you?

It’s a solution that fits our IT infrastructure. Plus, we can now work in a much more connected way than with our old, external phone system. I appreciate that most of it now comes from a single provider.

How did the transition go?

Absolutely smoothly. Leuchter IT provided excellent support and helped us get on board. On the go-live day, everything worked perfectly, and the entire coordination behind the scenes went off without a hitch.

How did your employees react to the change?

No news is good news (laughs). When the system works, a transition like this usually goes off without a hitch. Of course, our employees were informed in advance—that certainly helped.

You’ve been working with the installation company Leuchter IT Solutions AG for many years. What do you value most about this partnership?

It’s actually a long-standing partnership—nearly 20 years. They know our company structure very well and quickly identify our needs. That’s extremely valuable. For our part, we value our partner and their commitment to service. It’s always an extremely professional and pleasant collaboration. When we have requirements, we reach out to our contacts and work together to analyze the current situation in order to find the optimal solution. At the same time, Leuchter IT proactively reaches out to us to identify and implement opportunities for increased efficiency and optimization. This collaboration is fantastic and indispensable!

And how is the collaboration with peoplefone going?

I can’t really comment on that, since I’m not in direct contact with peoplefone. But one thing is certain for me: I can only recommend the straightforward approach of all our partners. Switching to the new setup was the right move, and we’re very satisfied with it.
